Slice of Paradise

Yes that's exactly what Kona is for us, a sweet little slice of paradise. 

So we made it yesterday after a pretty non-eventful day of travel. Leaving our house at 5am and taking the short flight to Seattle was easy, then we had a bit of a layover where the kids played and we had some breakfast. Finally we boarded the "big plane" and Lockie decided as we were taking off to scream as loud as possible for about 10 minutes. I think the pressure was killing his ears and as soon as we leveled off and I could stand up for 5 minutes he was out. He ended up doing as expected if not better and the two big kids were awesome travelers per usual. 

We were greeted at the airport by TT (Rhonda) and as soon as the car pulled in to the garage the kids were jetting up to get their swim gear on and hit the pool. Perfect way to end a long day.

Today we woke up, surprisingly not too early, and headed for the Kids Beach. Spent the morning swimming and playing in the sand then back to the condo for naps and lunch. Little more pool time this afternoon and trip downtown for a new pair of Crocs for the girlie. Pizza for dinner as it's the last night we are all together. Tomorrow TT & Uncle Chris head out and we actually have to watch our own children ;)

but maybe not as much as this boy. He figured the beach was his very own ginormous sand box. 

Koren is quite the shell collecting explorer. Him and I ventured into the rocks to see a sea turtle. Can't wait to do that some more.

All three monkeys have this crazy obsession with all the outdoor showers.

I ended up brining my DSLR with me but totally spaced the fact that my MacBook pro doesn't have any editing software soo..these pics are all right from the source! I've also been using my iphone a bunch so i'll have to do a photodump soon. 

While the Sun Shines.

Since the first snow fall last week I've been mourning the loss of park play dates. The past few days the temps warmed up (a smidge) and all the snow temporarily took a hike. The kids and I have been battling an awful cold/bug and since i'm trying my best not to fly with sickies we been hiding out at home. So with the nicer weather and a phone call from a friend we bundled up and headed down the street to play for an hour or so. This was Saturday morning and by Saturday evening we may have regretted our decision as the coughing attacks were back. Ugh.. 

 

But then I saw these pics and, nope, no regrets! The monkeys had a blast especially the littlest brother who is now starting to run. For him the chance to be free and go wherever he wants is pure bliss! 

 

Thanksgiving was great. Simple. The food was delish and all the kids were very, very well behaved! Lockie slept through almost all of the meal and really wasn't all that hungry in general. He made up for it Friday by taking down almost half a pie all by himself! 

We head out early early Tuesday morning and by late day will be hopefully relaxing poolside with all family members present. THat is, if we don't leave Lockie behind because he was kicked off the plane due to major temper/anger/screaming fits :) Let's just hope and pray we make the 6 hour flight with a happy toddler! 

We took the big kids up to the Ridge today where we spent a couple of hours skiing,racing,picking T up off the ground, eating candy, riding the chair lift (yep, even T) and having fun! So so happy that we are almost a complete ski fam! 

Lockie Babe 16 months.

Hey hey little man, today you are 16 months old. Sheesh you are such a big kid! This past month it sure seems like you have been learning new "tricks" daily and talking up a storm! 

(playing Old MacDonald on the iPad, not sure what we did when we were babies but i'm guessing nothing like this)

He's loving making all of his animal sounds and by far my favorite is the bear, he gives one heck of a roar! 

Now that he's a full fledge toddler and learning to run, yikes, he's starting to test his limits and when not allowed to do something you get to experience a massive tantrum. Love the fact that he has so much personality but really blow away at the fit this dude can pitch. 

Signing has definitely helped understand what he wants but their are times where his brother and sister seem to know waay more than I do. They must have a special sibling connection. I really don't know what kids do when on their own because watching all three play and interact with each other has to be the best act int he world. They have built in playmates for life and now that Lachlan can truly play it's so much fun! 

Can't believe Locks is 2 months shy of 1 and half. Nuts.

My first visit to New York was quick, but pretty dang awesome. 

Sara was a fantastic hostess and showed me everything that I wanted to see and then some. I never felt like a "tourist" which was the best part. 

4 days away from my babes was plenty and one day I'll have to go back. 

The weather definitley could have been better.
